The Aquarian Minyan meets for musical, embodied, Kabbalat Shabbatot on Friday nights, and Saturday Morning Shacharit and Torah Services on Zoom. Prior to the pandemic, we met in pop-up locations across the East Bay and Marin, in the homes of various members. Since the pandemic began, we’ve met every Friday night for Kabbalat Shabbat and every Saturday morning for Shacharit and Torah service, exclusively via Zoom.
Imagine living-room Judaism at it’s finest – hosted and led by gifted lay-leaders, musicians, singers, rabbis, and emerging spiritual leaders.
It’s a little different every time, and that’s part of the magic of it.

Our Kabbalat Shabbat service Friday February 5th 2021 featured a special tribute to the music of Flory Jagoda z"l, the Bosnian-born Holocaust survivor, a singer-songwriter who became a champion of Ladino and Sephardic music after immigrating to the United States, who passed this week, may her memory be for a blessing. Achi Ben Shalom, Cantor Aviva Rosenbloom, Rabbi Jonathan Seidel, Ami Goodman, Renée Benmeleh, Marty Gross & Claudia Miller, Barry Barkan, and The Aquarian Minyan Shabbos Chevre!
The Aquarian Minyan was so excited to welcome our special guests on Saturday November 7, 2020: Berkeley’s own Rabbi Menachem Creditor and his wife, recording artist Neshama Carlebach, whose 2019 “Believe” is a four-time nominee and Independent Music Awards winner. They shared special music and Torah for Shabbat Parshat Vayeira, along with Ne'ila Carlebach who gave a special drash as part of the Minyan’s legendary heart-centered, soulful, egalitarian and inspiring Shabbos service.
